Five tips for selecting a voip provider

To find the right provider for you, consider the following:
1. Price - What do you want to pay each month for your VoIP service? Many monthly fee ranges from $8 to $30. Under the monthly fee, you are unlikely to get additional features. Sometimes, inexpensive programs don t allow phone users outside the service network.
2. Features - Caller ID Is it important to you? Do you want a voice message? These and others are not available for all VoIP services for all plans, to make sure you know what options you want to decide on the time given.
3. Emergency Services/E911 choice - Not all VoIP service providers currently meet federal standards E911, direct systems are used to determine the location of a person who dialed 911. If your main VoIP phone, you may want to choose a plan that supports 911 calls. If you feel comfortable using your mobile phone for emergencies, a VoIP E911 provider capabilities may not be needed.
4. Technical support - Some VoIP providers charge for technical support; others don t. Many companies - Vonage and Time Warner, for example - do not charge for technical support, some small companies. Contact your VoIP provider to determine if additional payment assistance.
5. Number portability - Do you want to put your current landline phone number? Some VoIP service providers will port your phone number when your new VoIP phone, while others will provide a new phone number. If you want your current number, to give the people who will help you save.
