What makes this possible?
HD Radio technology works like a traditional analog transmissions (AM and FM are two analogue signals).
The difference is that the station broadcasting HD Radio technology transmits digital radio signal enhancement, and usually the analog signal. Can also broadcast three text data signal.
Your radio receivers receive signals - the same as what is AM or FM signal. If you have an HD Radio receiver, will reduce the air pressure and translate the signal and viola! You can get a bright, clean, near CD quality sound.
What happens if you do not have t technology, HD Radio receiver? It's easy. You hear a normal analogue radio-AM or FM.
AM radio has a small part of the bandwidth than FM radio. This means that there is enough space to give the morning the same station near CD quality as FM stations. But there is enough bandwidth that AM stations will be able to announce to the definition of a signal as one of today's analogue FM station. Improve the performance is expected to make AM radio a better alternative than the FM has - to give you more listening options.
Less vulnerable
Digital FM radio is less susceptible to the problems they received. Your HD Radio tuner digital processor will not remove all those annoying up, hiss, static disappeared and caused by disturbances.
What happens if you lose the digital signal for some reason? Nothing really. HD Radio technology defaults back to analog mode in much the same way as normal stereo radio to switch from mono mode when the signal is weak. Then, when he returned to the digital signal available, you are automatically returned HD Radio Switches. What could be easier?
